My Mission
Part of this healing journey for me was to channel my stress and recovery into a physical outlet, which was running. While I've committed my time and resources to training, I wanted to feel like I’m contributing to a goal that will help other parents in similar situations like me. I found Teddy’s Wish, which is a charity that provides support for grieving parents, while also raising money toward research surrounding miscarriages and infant loss.
My Story
Welcome to Cross The Finish Lines!
My name is Laura, and I’m this is my space that tracks my emotional and fitness journey. This incorporates a lot of different trials in my life, including fertility issues, miscarriages, infant loss, living internationally, and so much more. But the bottom line is making sure you believe in yourself that you are worth it.
I’m very open about my journey and happy to discuss what I went through. I think issues surrounding fertility, miscarriages, loss, and motherhood should be talked about much more. Women encounter countless challenges, have so many pressures, and impossible expectations. It’s unreasonable and wrong for women to have to go through these struggles alone. My goal is to help spread light on these issues, open up a place for discussion, and share my experiences in hope it might help someone else.
For me, a key part of my journey was to try to focus on something in the future that I could work towards. From that came focusing my energy on raising money for every race I participated in. Not only did that get me out of the house and keep me healthy, it helped me to contribute to a situation I felt I had no control over. Hence, @crossthefinishlines was born!
In addition to learning things that have helped me through this journey, you’ll read about things that I love, my travels with friends, and things I can’t live without. I’m happy you’re here joining me for the ride - buckle in for the roller coaster that is my life.
Oh, and as always please remember, you are not alone, and you are worth it. And if you don’t believe it yourself right now, I’m here to help remind you.
